A national juried exhibition open to all media. The themes of artwork submitted will deal with the ideas of complete freedom and/or being completely lost. This exhibition is open to all U.S. residents at least 18 years of age. This exhibition will take place physically in the gallery as well as in our interactive online exhibitions page.

Adrift: (adverb) so as to float without being either moored or steered.

About the Juror(s):

Steffi Chappell is the Assistant Curator at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY. As a member of the curatorial team at the Everson, she works on exhibitions featuring modern and contemporary American artists, writes and edits content for the museum’s blog, and leads education programs highlighting work in the Everson’s permanent collection. Chappell received her Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University and dual Masters of Arts from Syracuse University in Art History and Museum Studies.

 


Images
All entries must be submitted electronically via online Submittable platform. Follow all instructions listed on Submittable, judging will be done entirely from digital files on Submittable. JPEGs must be 72 dpi, at least 1200 pixels in one direction.

Insurance
Artwork will be insured against loss, damage, or theft while on gallery premises. Artists should insure work during shipping to and from the gallery.

Shipping
Artists will pay shipping to and from gallery (for unsold work), pay close attention to shipping dates after notification of acceptance. Buyer will pay for shipping if work is purchased.

Sales
All sales (both in-person and online) will be handled by gallery staff at Main Street Arts. The gallery retains 40% commission on all sales, please price your work accordingly. Sales made in Main Street Arts online store will be under the same terms as in-gallery sales.

Selected work
All entries must be of original design and personal execution. Artwork which differs greatly from submission images will not be accepted. The exhibition will be held in the main floor gallery at Main Street Arts and online.
