"In these landscapes, I look at the transitions from day to night,
warm to cold, and winter to spring. Looking at large scale divisions
of time is relatable to the small scale ebb and flow of daily living.
I paint the landscape in simple shapes to create an immediate relationship to the viewer. To simplify its complexity is to better identify with what is already a natural personal connection.”
Zerbe Sodervick
Zerbe Sodervick’s monoprints are interpretive landscapes that address environmental conditions and sustainability considerations. Creating one-of-a-kind imagery with inks and beeswax on paper, land and waterscapes are richly defined in multi-layers. Her prints reference specific locations where fragile earth resources are vulnerable to change and loss.
The opening reception on Saturday, September 7, 4–7 p.m. featured:
