An invitational group exhibition featuring seven New York state artists working in 2D and 3D across media and genre.  Tying into aspects of our own unique, physical journeys as well as the human condition this exhibition strives to showcase the delicate balance of being and becoming-and what we let go in that transformational process.

The work featured touches upon commonalities and differences in what we have seen or experienced while formulating the courage or tenacity to prepare for our future.  Some of the work featured is rooted in the physical with aspects of identity at the core of the work-while other pieces are abstract, metaphorical or a rare glimpse of someone's story.

The pieces, chapters, or memories we leave behind might be unnecessary or cumbersome; Perhaps someone has outgrown them or one's view has drastically shifted in the present day.  The pieces we carry with us can be useful, rich, and vital for growth.  It is through the deciding and the sorting of those pieces that we put one foot in front of the other charting each new day.

'Pieces we Leave, Others we Carry' reminds us of the fragile balance between leaving and carrying aspects and items from our past as we carve out our futures-both separate and shared.
