Relics of the Here and Now: Jennifer Hecker and Juan Perdiguero

An exhibition of new and recent works by Jennifer Hecker and Juan Perdiguero. The ink drawings and mixed media sculpture aim to define a place in time and address our shared connection as a human species to something spiritual and/or psychological.

“These vestiges refer to the passing of time and the desire to preserve the moment. Using physical matter to realize spiritual concepts allows metaphors to bring meaning into the realm of the mundane.” —Jennifer Hecker

“The emotional impact of my images communicates a profound and personal psychological response of the time I am living. The gaze is fixed on something that goes beyond our mental understanding and that creates a sense of restlessness.” —Juan Perdiguero

Exhibition programming at Main Street Arts is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
