"My work stems from my interest in biological systems, symbiotic relationships, and the intersection of protection and separation. Most of my paintings depict ambiguous enclosures in which biomorphic and structural forms interact in a mutualistic way- each form attempts to protect, cover, or support one another. These abstract characters often resemble fences, walls, cells, membranes, and other barriers."
