Dale Wolfield

Dale Wolfield (Port Ewen, NY)

“My detailed one of a kind hand carved pieces are created and designed to be used in the home everyday. My intention is to bring beauty and delight to the usual circadian rituals of our lives. Many hours of effort, design, speculation and decision making go into each individual piece I offer. Drawing on the clay to begin the design then relief carving combined with colored slips and engobes. Always imperfect in some way…. human hands.”
Dale lives on the Hudson, a Hudson Valley native. Subsequent to a career in arts education she is using her proliferation of creative reserve to create detailed functional ceramic pieces. Dale served on the executive board of the Hudson River Maritime Museum and is a life member of the Woodstock Artists Association. She holds graduate degrees from SUNY New Paltz. Currently she creates at the Kingston Ceramic Studio.
