Dominique Ostuni

Dominique Ostuni (Bowdoinham, Maine)

“I am a maker, a feeling, my mothers daughter, a grocery store tulip, on the shores of Midcoast Maine. I am interested in blurring the lines between poetry, ceramics, and painting – a collection of singular visions transformed into a piece for the hand. I experiment with color and the tactile aspects of translucent porcelains to invite touch and radical honesty to the table. I explore the nature of pleasure and human interaction through my multi sensory pieces which I pen as utilitarian paintings. My work reimagines tabletop objects and upon closer inspection, each piece tells my secrets, a story of time.”
Dominique Ostuni is a ceramicist residing in the woods of Bowdoinham, Maine. She has been a resident artist at CRETA Rome and she currently works out of her studio nestled next to the Cathance River with a hummingbird named Tito and a greyhound named Oscar. Her work resides in the permanent collections of cabinets and hands throughout this very beautiful and very strange world of ours.
