Jotham Hung

Jotham Hung (Los Angeles, CA)

“For millennia, ceramics have been crafted purely by hand, far preceding technology in the modern world. The dichotomy of this ancient practice and today’s avant-garde technology encourages continual discourse in my work. I find the mystery that lies within the elemental process of ceramics and its history fascinating. Diving into this process highlights the key notion of failure and how we can use it to create better work.”
Jotham Hung is a ceramic artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. His passion for art began at an early age and he first discovered clay at his first year of university. Since then, he has consistently worked in the ceramics field and built a studio art practice. He has taught and lectured at various ceramics institutions, including the American Museum of Ceramic Art and ArtCenter College of Design.
