“Being raised on a mesa bordering Arizona and Utah, my desert roots have served as a constant muse. My pottery is inspired by the contrasting hues and textures of desert land. I enjoy playing with a combination of exposed clay and glaze, adding texture through carving, and am in constant search of a dreamy southwestern palette.”
Katie grew up amongst the sandstone walls of northern Arizona and has had her hands deep in dirt all her life. She first fell in love with clay as a therapeutic outlet at her local community studio in Tucson, AZ. Her days are now filled with clay whether she’s teaching a ceramic class or creating work in her home studio in Austin, TX.
