Summer Creativity Workshop

Summer Creativity Workshop

Grade Level / Age:

Grades 1–6

About the Instructor:

Sherry has been creating since she was a very young child and both of her parents were inspirations that fed her interests. She was born and raised in New Jersey and began her art studies at School of Visual Arts while attending high school. Eventually life brought her to the Finger Lakes where she received her B.A. from William Smith College and her M.S. in Education from Nazareth College. She taught art in public school for 20 years and throughout her life’s adventures taught art privately. Sherry is a lifelong learner and really just “wants to make stuff”.

Are you looking for a weekly summer art program? The 6-week Summer Creativity Workshop at Main Street Arts allows students in grades 1–6 the opportunity to sharpen their creative skills and experiment with various art media in both 2D and 3D.

Each week students will use different drawing and painting materials while delving into their most whimsical selves. For the first four weeks, student artists will create drawings and paintings. During the last 2 weeks of the program, students will choose one of their 2D pieces and use it to create a sculpture. All materials included.

Closed 7/28 through 8/3:

We will be closed to the public Friday, July 28 through Thursday, August 4 as we install our next exhibition, Inspired By Nature. Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, August 4 from 5 to 8pm!
