Title: Inglis’ Farm
Location: Route 488 Orleans
What drew you to this location?
My mom’s family is from Orleans, so I am very familiar with the Inglis Farm. The Orleans Cemetery, where many of my family are buried, is just down the hill from the farm and as I looked up the hill toward the farm from there, I have always thought I should paint that view someday. Someday came.
What was one notable thing from the day?
I set up my easel among the graves of my relatives to paint the farm. I spent the morning painting and reminiscing of the times spent in Orleans with family. It was a pleasant and I could say a joyful experience.
Describe your approach to plein air in 2 sentences.
I choose to paint what I believe God inspires me to paint and I hope when finished, the painting will communicate what I felt and maybe others will feel it too.
